Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Qly, quantum circuits, and getting started. Can't find what you need? Reach out to us.

01What is Qly?

Qly is a quantum circuits app and quantum computing simulator with a visual builder and access to real quantum hardware. It provides an intuitive IDE-like interface for designing, simulating, and running quantum circuits on real QPUs from IBM, IonQ, Rigetti, IQM, and AQT.

02Do I need a quantum computer to use Qly?

No. You can simulate circuits directly in Qly without any quantum hardware. When you're ready, you can also run jobs on real QPUs from IBM, IonQ, Rigetti, IQM, and AQT directly from Qly.

03Is Qly free to use?

Qly is free to start: the simulators are free and you get $5 in credits at signup, so you can run real circuits without a credit card. Real-hardware runs are pay-per-shot at the provider's list price. We believe quantum computing education should be accessible to everyone.

04What gates are supported?

Qly supports all common quantum gates including Pauli gates (X, Y, Z, H), phase gates (S, T and their adjoints), rotation gates (RX, RY, RZ), and multi-qubit gates (CNOT, CZ, SWAP). More gates are being added regularly.

05Can I save and share my circuits?

Yes! Sign in to save your circuits to the cloud and share them via a unique URL. Shared circuits can be viewed and forked by other users, making collaboration easy.

06What is OpenQASM?

OpenQASM (Quantum Assembly Language) is a standard text-based language for describing quantum circuits. Qly can import and export circuits in OpenQASM format, plus Qiskit Python, Cirq, and SVG for full interoperability.

07How do I get more runs?

Each account gets a generous number of free runs per month. If you need more, you can request additional runs through our request form. We're generous with allocations for educational and research use.
